TACLOBAN CITY–Fr. Chris Arthur Militante, Social Media Coordinator for the Archdiocese of Palo, said that giving gifts on Valentine’s Day is a form of sacrifice, in an interview with Bombo Radyo Tacloban today, February 14.
Militante explained that it is good to pair love with a gift as this is a concrete way of showing how one feels about who they love.
He added that according to philosophy, “Nothing comes into the mind without passing through our senses.”
In addition, he explained that the same case could be said in church, where it is not enough for one to claim they love God, as they need to pair this with action, such as attending mass.
Meanwhile, Militante emphasized that Christ’s sacrifice is the model of all forms of love, in light of the said holiday.
